LSAT scores today
Fri Oct 19, 2007 at 07:42:09 PM PDT
Did anyone else out there take the LSAT in Sept and receive their scores today?
I graduated from college 10+ years ago. I never thought I'd go to law school. I've taken a more arty/creative career path, and for the last few years I've had my own writing business. Somewhere along the way, a switch flipped and a legal career started beckoning to me.
Honestly, I think the idea began emerging in 2003, when I got very involved in Howard Dean's campaign. Although I have discovered my inner activist--thanks GWB!-- I don't actually want to become a lawyer to "have the power" and change the world (remember, I've been out of college for a while, so I am a bit cynical). Rather, I feel that the professional skills I've acquired already would serve me well in a legal career, and I think law will hold my interest for the rest of my working life.
Anyway, I suspect others out there are on the verge of embarking on a legal career. What's motivating your journey?
If you got scores back today, I hope you got what you wanted!
Can Oprah interview George W. Bush now?
Thu Jan 26, 2006 at 02:35:20 PM PDT
Today's Oprah is an interview with James Frey, the extremely sheepish author of
A Million Little Pieces. She is pretty much raking him over the coals for presenting his story as a truthful memoir.
She calls him out, saying things like "But, that's a lie."
"The Take": Phoenixes rise from wrecked economy's ashes

Call me Chicken Little. I believe American life as we know it will undergo an Extreme Makeover some time in the next twenty years. I am an avid reader of the economics threads by bonddad and Jerome a Paris. I gobble up anything about the evils of Wal-Mart. Like Robert Kennedy, Jr., I've been saying for years that free markets are beautiful things--too bad we don't have one. The game is rigged from top to bottom. From Paul Wolfowitz's lofty new perch at the World Bank, right on down.
GOP's shiny new SS frame
Thu Feb 03, 2005 at 01:14:36 PM PDT
Smart Republicans know that when their frames fail, a Dem frame may succeed.
So now they are "preserving Social Security." Yeah, right. And foxes in the hen house are "preserving eggs."
Ideas, anyone? How can we tarnish all the pretty faux gold on this "preserving Social Security" frame?
Bush/Cheney 2008!

That's right, people. . . I'm talking about Jeb.
For the past few days, I've been racking my brains thinking about who the GOP will front after W's tour of infamy.
Guiliani? Not likely. 9/11 leadership aside, he needs an Extreme Morals Makeover.
The Good Doctor Frist? Nope. He's a cardboard cadaver of a politician. And there are those dead kitties . . .

MoveOn e-mail
Tue Feb 17, 2004 at 12:31:22 AM PDT
Just received an e-mail from MoveOn thanking members for all their support. MoveOn is now 2,000,000 members strong. The e-mail closed with "Together, we're taking our country back." What do you think of this? Do you think this has anything to do with their recent presidential preference survey?
